tis the season.

i'm going to try my best to be better about this blogging thing.
unfortunately, due to the busyness of life, the convenience of fbook, and my unfortunate perfectionism, this blog has been sadly neglected.
but for the sake of family, mostly the g-parents, i'll give it another ol' try.
...
since i'm on winter break with the kiddos, we've been trying to make the most of our time together.
a few days before Christmas, we headed downtown to meet up with J at lunchtime. i drove us to Seattle Center and we hopped on the Monorail to Westlake Center downtown.
we arrived a bit earlier than expected so we walked down to pike place market. had an obligatory daily donut and enjoyed the live music.

atticus REALLY wanted to see the gum wall but refused to be pictured with it. jubes, the cheeseball, had no issues of course.

back to westlake center where we met Jer. here we are waiting for our turn on the carousel.

jer went back to work and we headed back to Seattle Center to enjoy Winterfest a bit.

we headed downtown originally to take pictures with Santa at Nordstroms, but unfortunately there was a 2.5 hour wait... so we decided to come back another day to see Santa.
...
so on Friday morning, as soon as the kids woke up, we got them dressed and headed downtown to meet Santa. we got there at 8am and there was already a line 50 people deep. doors opened at 8:30.

jer waited in line while the kids and i went across the street and rode the escalators up and down at pacific place. thankfully, the had a paging system and jer didn't have to literally stand in line the whole time.... and hallelujah! Top Pot donuts was within walking distance...

2 hours later, we had our first Santa experience. he did smell like beef and cheese, to me anyway. maybe that's why atticus wanted nothing to do with him and refused to smile. well, i think the photag got at least one smiling pic. we'll see.

downtown xmastime was lovely, but insane. who knows if we'll continue this as a tradition. we'll see if the kiddos want to do it again next year and go from there.

later that month, we celebrated halloween in our crafty homemade costumes: juby was a puppy, atti was the neighborhood woodchuck, mommy and daddy were critter control. our costumes were inspired by the neighborhood critters that attacked our homegrown brussel sprouts.
